Complexities of Business Travel is my passport valid after brexit

The Covid-19 Pandemic continues to affect the travel plans for many of our corporate clients, some of these we continue to document within our series the complexities of Business Travel.

As of the 1st January 2021, following the UK’s break away from the European Union, entry requirements for UK nationals changed. Even if a passport is well within its expiry date it still may not be valid for travel to the EU under new requirements so everyone needs to check their passports before any travel to the EU.

You can use the UK Government’s tool to check whether your passport is valid for the country you’re visiting.

If required, ensure you apply for your new passport in plenty of time as it can take up to 3 weeks to renew online.

If your current passport is still valid don’t worry about the burgundy EU cover, these covers will remain in use alongside the new blue passports.
