Our ESG commitment
We’re revolutionising business travel by integrating our Environmental, Social and Governance practices into every trip.
Thanks to our fresh and innovative approach, corporate travel is more focused on people, the planet and performance than ever before.
Sustainable growth, responsible leadership
Good Travel Management is part of the John Good Group, which is committed to achieving sustainable growth for its clients across multiple sectors. In order to ensure that every action and service aligns with our ESG policy, the group has a dedicated board of directors supported by a range of committees.
All manner of governance and H&S topics are discussed on a regular basis, which includes periodically reassessing our supply chain so that we only work with businesses that share our values.
Celebrating our operational carbon neutrality achievement
In 2022, all of our employees celebrated a major milestone, as we had achieved operational carbon neutrality across the entire group of businesses (John Good & Sons, Good Travel Management, Dan Shipping & Chartering, TEPS, and Bay Shipping).
This is a testament to our ‘Planet First’ ethos and was made possible through our partnership with Climate Impact Partners.
Through in-depth collaboration, we carefully selected projects that make significant contributions to the communities they serve while avoiding and reducing carbon emissions.

We’re aligned to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are a collection of interlinked objectives designed to serve as a “shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future”.
Good Travel Management and the wider John Good Group are committed to aligning our services with the following goals: No Poverty (SDG 1), Good Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
Investing In People
Our philosophy is that if we look after our employees, they not only deliver their best work but also feel inspired to stay with our group for longer and explore exciting career progression opportunities. To make Good Travel Management a great place to work, we’ve rolled out a wide variety of initiatives that put people first:
- Management development
- Innovative performance programme
- New handbooks and policies
- Comprehensive HR system
- Internal feedback scheme
- Wellbeing initiatives
- Flexible working
- CPD opportunities
- Talent attraction strategy
- EV car schemes for employees
- Realigned policies to match the demographics of current and future staff
Our Ongoing Commitment
Though we were thrilled to achieve operational carbon neutrality, there’s still work to be done at Good Travel Management and across John Good Group. Our non-operational Scope 3 Emissions are more than 100 times greater than our operational emissions, which is why we’re in constant discussions about how to further reduce our environmental impact.
This is being carried out under a clear Reduction and Influence Plan, which also benefits Good Travel Management’s clients across all sectors:
- Sustainability training through Responsible Futures for all staff.
- Promotion of travel suppliers working to reduce CO2e (such as airlines using sustainable aviation fuel and electric vehicle car hire fleets).
- Online Booking Tools to display CO2e, facilitating more sustainable travel methods and routes.
- CO2 measurement reporting and offsetting via Thrust Carbon.
- Carbon-based pricing and budgeting tools are currently in development, which will enable our clients to enhance their sustainable travel policies.
- Trip approval software to question if a particular trip is necessary based on sustainability, travel risk and traveller wellbeing.
