ITT (Invitation to Tender)

In travel management, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) is a procurement procedure for generating competing offers from different bidders to deliver full travel management services or elements of travel management services such as air, rail, hotels and conferences and events. They are often preceded by a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) or Request for Information (RFI), which are used to shortlist bidders capable of delivering the contract successfully.

The invitation to tender typically includes,

  • Project overview and the scope of work
  • Technical requirements for travel management services
  • Tendering procedure and deadlines
  • Selection criteria for evaluating proposals
  • Terms and conditions of the contract

Invitation to tender’s are used to ensure fair competition and allow the issuing organisation to compare different travel management providers to select the one offering the best value and services for their corporate travel needs.
