Who is a Marine Passenger?

Those who are joining or leaving from active seagoing duty or work on board a merchant marine vessel; this includes cruise liners and dredgers and professionally managed commercial yachts.

Passengers can be engineers, technicians, construction, inspectors, maintenance staff travelling to carry out work on a vessel whether in dock or at sea and cruise ship crew including on-board entertainers and medical staff.

Also included are the following types of specialist vessels deployed in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Drillship, FPSO/FSO/FSU/FSRU, Pipe and cable laying, Heavy lift/ crane/derrick barges, Platform supply vessels PSV/OSV, Anchor handling / Tug, Vessels meeting the criteria listed above which are in dock, either under repair or under construction (New Buildings).

  • Fisherman’s ID
  • Cruise Line ID
  • Crew List or Sign On/Off Papers 
  • Letter of Guarantee in English 

Who is a Offshore passenger?

Oil and gas exploration and production workers travelling to/from duty to any type of land or offshore rig platform whether fixed,
floating or manoeuvrable under its own power.

Anyone employed to work on an offshore rig providing engineering, medical, scientific, and management services such as geologists, rig managers, drilling crews, load-handling crews, catering and living quarters crew.

Sub-contractors providing ancillary services to the rig/platform such as mud-engineers, diving crew and helicopter pilots.

Documentation needed for Offshore Passengers

  • Original letter with company letterhead in English or pdf containing travel information
  • Letter of Guarantee in English 

Who is a Renewable Passenger? (Green Energy)

On duty technical crews, engineers and construction staff travelling to or from a renewable energy project. Technical crews who are travelling on duty to or from any type of onshore or offshore renewable energy farm, engineers and construction staff who are employed to construct, service or maintain both onshore or offshore renewable energy installations and sub-contractors providing ancillary services.

Green energy technicians travelling on duty to/from any type of onshore and/or offshore green energy farm.

Including Solar, Wave Power, Biomass, Wind, Hydro and Geothermal
